ChessBooker is a scheduling tool for chess coaches. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

What we collect

When you use ChessBooker, we may collect:

  • Account information: name, email address
  • Booking details: lesson times, durations, and preferences
  • Time zone: to display availability correctly
  • Lesson notes and recaps: content you add after lessons (if applicable)
  • Usage data: how you interact with the platform to improve the experience

How we use your data

We use your information to:

  • Schedule and manage lesson bookings
  • Send confirmations, reminders, and notifications
  • Improve ChessBooker and develop new features
  • Provide customer support

What we don't do

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Your information is used only to provide and improve ChessBooker.

Third-party services

ChessBooker may integrate with:

  • Google Calendar: if you connect your account, we create calendar events for confirmed lessons
  • Email providers: to send booking confirmations and notifications

These services have their own privacy policies. We only share the data necessary to provide the integration.

Google user data

If you choose to connect your Google account, ChessBooker requests access to the following:

  • Google Calendar events (calendar.events): to create, update, and delete calendar events, including Google Meet links, for lessons you confirm, reschedule, or cancel in ChessBooker
  • Your Google email address (userinfo.email): to show which Google account is connected

We store the OAuth access and refresh tokens needed to keep the connection working, along with your Google email address. We only create, update, and delete events that ChessBooker created for your lessons. We do not read, copy, or store your other calendar events.

ChessBooker's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is used only to provide the calendar features described above. It is not used for advertising, is not sold, and is not shared with third parties except as needed to provide these features or as required by law.

You can disconnect Google Calendar at any time from Settings in ChessBooker, which deletes the stored tokens. You can also revoke access from your Google Account permissions page.

Data retention

We keep your data as long as needed to provide scheduling services and maintain lesson history. If you want your data deleted, contact us and we'll remove it.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time.
